Alexandra is a cello teacher based in Baltimore. Maintaining a private studio at her home, she teaches beginning to advanced students from 6 years of age to adults. Alexandra holds a Master’s degree in cello performance from the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University.
Using a variety of different methods and books, Alexandra works with each student to develop a course of study that suits their needs and abilities. She places a particular emphasis on:
Creating a positive atmosphere for music.
Maximizing effective practice to save time and effort.
Choosing appropriate repertoire to challenge a student, yet also allow them to advance at their own pace.
Maintaining a fluid and relaxed technique while avoiding any tension or pain.
Helping students understand not only “how” to do technique, but also “why” technique is done a certain way.
